My first thoughts were – what a nice place to get on FaceTime and show off the views to family and friends. It’s a great place for customers to try out different features of Apple products and in general a very inviting place for its existing and aspiring customers to experience the different facets of Apple. The store is just by the river walk with a pavilion that is completely glass that lets its customers experience some of the best and consistent city views - rain or shine. But before that, the first thing you notice is the really nice views of the Chicago River. There was plenty of space on the top floor for people in the queue to sit around. As we walked in we realized it was certainly not just another Apple store. A few footsteps later on a warm Chicago winter day we walked into the new Apple store. My husband and I belonged to the latter category and we expected to walk-in and place ourselves in the queue to buy one of the products. Out of habit we first stopped at the old store in the North Michigan Ave where the store was shut, however with clear indications to remind people that it has now moved to the new location. You walk in either wanting to take a look at the displays and chat with the store personnel about features and purchase plans or you walk in with the intention of buying their products with almost always knowing what exactly to buy. When you walk into an apple store, you almost always know what to expect other than the regular hustle and bustle – all of the different active versions of their products on the display. It had all the traits of a regular Apple Store (big and busy). The old one was located in North Michigan Ave. Over the weekend I visited the new Apple Store that opened in Chicago a little over a month ago. ![]()
